Quick answers about files, installation, and using AKD Image.
Do I need an account or payment?
No. AKD Image tools are free to use and do not require an account.
Where are my images sent?
Processing runs in your browser on your device. Selected images are not sent to the AKD Image server.
Does the app work offline?
After installation and the initial load, the main tools are available offline. Cloud sources, the first download of AI components, and updates require internet access.
How do I install the app?
Click Install app at the bottom of the page. An installation dialog will open with instructions for your browser and device.
Which file formats and sizes are supported?
Supported formats are listed in each tool's upload area. Limits depend on the operation, browser, and available memory; GIF and video tools have separate limits.
Why does background removal take time to start?
On first use, the browser downloads an AI model. Download and processing time depend on your connection and device. Internet access is required for the first run.
Are uploaded files saved after I close the tab?
Selected files and results are not added to the app's offline cache. Download the results you need before closing the tab.
What should I do if a tool does not work?
Check the file format and try a smaller file. If the error repeats, note the tool name, browser, and the steps that trigger it. This will help when contacting the developer.
